"It's sort of a combination of rock, pop, alternative and electronica... all in one, lol!" says lead singer and trained brass musician Valance Liberty, "I suppose I've always been a show-off, though. My parents must have been having a laugh, I mean, I'M having a laugh!" He is joined by fellow bandmates and university mates in the 5-piece rock-combo, drummer Josh Mainland, guitarist Patrick Kayle, bass-player Ron Feldman and keyboard-player/producer and sound designer Mike Steinfield. "Valance writes the tunes, and then we start picking them apart," explains Mike, "I try to arrange an idea for the tracks framework with close guidance from Val, so as not to stray too far from the original concept, then the rest of the band comes in and add their parts, usually together in the same take. We try to record as much at the same time as possible to keep a fresh, spontaneous band sound." The name has been subject to much dispute and confusion amongst their friends, however, tells Josh, "It was originally MY suggestion, I believe, I was trying to come up with a sort of super-hero, comic-book type thing. I think we were supposed to be the A15, you know, an A-class band, number 1, and there are 5 of us. "Stop the A15... if you dare!" was the full name, but now it'll probably be an EP or track name cos it's a bit too long." But what do the guys get up to in London, in 2013? "We fuck about, go out getting pissed and not caring, you know," describes Patrick, "the daft thing is, Ron can't drink much or he gets really embarrassing, but we all literally pour alchopops down his throat and he becomes the funniest band member at the pub... maybe ever!" It's hard to imagine ANYONE will be able to stop this dynamic quintet.
